📰 News we're reading

• New Mental Health Clinic for Children (easthamptonstar.com) — Families in East Hampton now have closer access to children's mental health care thanks to a new South Oaks satellite clinic operating inside the East Hampton Healthcare Center on Pantigo Place. Staffed by a part-time social worker four days a week, the program is grant-funded for its first year and aims to ease long waits, transportation hurdles, and school-related mental health concerns on the East End.

• Yes Coming for Apartments (easthamptonstar.com) — East Hampton Village officials are poised to approve two affordable apartments above a Lumber Lane warehouse, using new code changes that waive costly parking fees for such projects. The units, intended for the owner's sons, would remain affordable in perpetuity under covenants now being finalized by the village attorney and zoning board.

• Visual Poetry • James Lane Post • Hamptons Event Calendar (jameslanepost.com) — East Hampton art lovers can visit Gallery 851's new exhibition, "Visual Poetry," featuring gestural abstract paintings and drawings by late local artist Hildy Maze, opening September 10 on Springs Fireplace Road. The show, running through October 4, highlights Maze's meditation-influenced work and her long connection to East Hampton after moving from Tribeca in 1984.
