Pierson High School Hosts Homecoming Parade
The students marched through Sag Harbor last weekend.
The classic stars of Disney and Pixar were front and center at Pierson High School’s annual Homecoming parade and game on Saturday.
On a beautiful, sunny morning, students, staff members and volunteer parents marched up Main Street from Long Wharf all the way to Mashashimuet Park, where they disembarked from their class floats and entertained the crowd with skits before the school’s traditional soccer game.
The floats were decorated this year with a Disney/Pixar theme.

A house attached to balloons represented the freshman class float’s nod to “Up,” while the sophomores rolled up Main Street with the more classic “Alice in Wonderland” theme.
The juniors paid homage to “Monster’s Inc.” and the senior class wrapped up its final homecoming dressed as a motley crew of superheroes inspired by “The Incredibles.”

“Homecoming is truly one of the most memorable events of the school year,” Katy Graves, Sag Harbor School District’s superintendent said. “It brings all of the classes and the community together in a fun weekend of pride and school spirit.”
Ahead of the floats, members of Pierson’s royal court hitched a ride in convertibles.
At the previous night’s pep rally, seniors Jack Schleicher and Fallon O’Brien were named homecoming king and queen, respectively.
Members of the queen’s court included Maizy Guyer, Payton Yardley and Hollie Schleicher, while the king’s court comprised Steven Arkinson, William Martin and Cooper Shiavoni.
To top off the pep rally’s evening of festivities, the seniors won the battle of the classes dance competition.
