Police: Multiple Arrests Made in String Of Commercial Burglaries

The investigation began in September when stores such as Radio Shack, Speonk Stationary Card Store, and the Deli Delight were burglarized.

The Southampton Town Police Department and Suffolk County police arrested several people lastΒ Friday in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in the area.

The investigation began mid-September when multiple establishments such as the Radio Shack in Hampton Bays, Speonk Stationary Card Store in Speonk, and the Deli Delight in East Quogue were broken into during the overnight hours and burglarized. Proceeds included scratch off lottery tickets, cigarettes, and electronics.

Similar crimes occurred within Suffolk County 5th and 7th precincts and Southampton Town Police worked in conjunction with Suffolk County Police to further the multi-jurisdictional investigation which led to the following arrests.

On Friday, Oct. 10, Southampton Town Police arrested: Daniel Willams, 38, of Mastic Beach and Michael Bellmonte, 36, of Mastic Beach, both on three counts of burglary in the third degree.

That same day Suffolk County Police arrested four people:

  • Albert Roberts, 52, Mastic Beach for criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree
  • James Connor, 32, of West Hempstead for burglary in the third degree
  • Ashley Depietto , 21, of Lindenhurst for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree
  • Thomas Kenney, 28, of McKinley Drive, Mastic Beach for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Police anticipate further charges in connection to the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Southampton Town Police Detectives at 631-702-2230.
