President Trump Coming To LI, County Executive Blakeman 'Grateful' For Visit
President Donald Trump is scheduled to be in Nassau County this week to tour law enforcement facilities, pay tribute, Bruce Blakeman says.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — President Donald Trump is coming to Nassau County, County Executive Bruce Blakeman said, to tour county law enforcement facilities and pay tribute to members of the county’s law enforcement community.
In a statement Monday, Blakeman said he is thankful that the president is expected to visit this week.
“I am grateful that President Trump is coming to Nassau County to tour our outstanding, state-of-the-art law enforcement facilities and pay tribute to the men and women of our Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Probation Department, and our firefighters for their outstanding efforts to protect our county, state, and country,” Blakeman said.

The White House, State and Nassau County Republican Committees did not respond to Patch’s requests for comment Monday, nor did the Hochul campaign.
Republican candidate Blakeman is challenging Democratic incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul in the upcoming election, with the most recent Siena polls placing him behind the governor, 52 percent to 32 percent. The county executive took over the Republican nomination for governor after Elise Stefanik dropped out of the race in December.

Although this is not a scheduled campaign event for Blakeman, Trump has shown longstanding support for Blakeman. Trump endorsed Blakeman in his run for governor of New York State back in December 2025.
Blakeman himself has aligned politically with the president on several issues in recent years, including immigration enforcement and transgender participation in sports. That alignment hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“Bruce is MAGA all the way, and has been with me from the very beginning,” Trump wrote in a Dec. 20, 2025 Truth Social post. “As Nassau County Executive, he is working tirelessly with the Brave Heroes of ICE, Border Patrol, and Law Enforcement to Keep Our Border SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Safeguard our Community, and Ensure LAW AND ORDER.”
