3 Charged In Shooting That Struck Nassau Home: Police

Police say the shots were fired early in the morning, and three hit a home filled with sleeping people.

Nassau County Police announced the arrest of three men in connection with a shooting in East Meadow that occurred in May.

According to police, officers responded to 2nd Street at 2:42 a.m. on May 20 for the sound of shots being fired. During the investigation, they found that three bullets had struck a home on the block while the residents were inside sleeping. No one was injured.

Police say they arrested Anthony Moran, 20, of Elmore Avenue, East Meadow; Matthew Moore, 22, of Michaels Lane, Glen Head; and Ahmad Nadeem, 22, of Prospect Avenue, East Meadow in connection with the shooting.

Moran is charged with first-degree attempted assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree conspiracy, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of unlawful possession of a high-capacity feeding device and second-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Moore and Nadeem were both charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal facilitation to commit a felony.

All three were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on different dates: Moran was arraigned on Aug. 18, Moore was arraigned on Sept. 10 and Nadeem was arraigned on Dec. 22.
