Buongusto PieSanos: Both Restaurant and Pizzeria

A popular East Meadow dining spot.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. We want to help. So East Meadow Patch will sometimes pick out a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out.

Here's the latest choice:

Buongusto PieSanos

PieSanos is a relaxing place to enjoy a variety of Northern and Southern Italian dishes. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable.

You can try anything from Greek Salad pizza to one of their very popular signature dishes, like Veal Scaloppine Buongusto with seafood and fresh pasta.

New owner Neil Koenig took over the business at the beginning of February, but kept all the staff, including the chefs.

"The delicious food remains the same as well," said Koenig. "We have regular customers here, who have been coming here for a long time. I would never change the outstanding food. It's why people keep coming back. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. It limits my dessert sales, because people are too full."

PieSanos provides free delivery as well as on and off premises catering. They also have a dining rewards program for their loyal customers: Spend $1 and earn 1 reward point. 250 reward points equals one $20 reward certificate, redeemable for PieSanos food.

There is a 25 percent discount on all pasta dishes (including seafood/pasta dishes) every Tuesday and Wednesday.

Open for lunch and dinner 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
