I opened up my in 1989 on the corner on East Meadow Avenue and Prospect Avenue. I was in that location for 16 years. In 2007, we moved across the street to a new building. We bought some new machinery – we have a large format digital printing machine and a CNC router, which is used for dimensional letters and carved signs.

How did you get into this business?

I wanted to fly planes, so I went to Dowling College and I took all of my calculus and flight classes there. I didn’t quite finish and went to work at a display company. I worked there for over 10 years and that was how I got my knowledge of signage.

What makes East Meadow a great place to own a business?

It is a pleasant town. It is a nice community and everybody kind of knows everybody. East Meadow Avenue is the heart of East Meadow. It is where we are and we are lucky enough to be located there.

What special services do you offer?

We do a lot of trade show signage and graphics. We do large format digital printing. We build exterior light boxes and channel letters and awnings. We do everything from the display industry to commercial signage and everything in between. We also do vehicle wraps for vans and trucks.

What is the most popular type of sign customers order?

Right now we are doing a lot of digital printing - that is usually on banners. A lot of the signage we digitally print and apply it to the sign. Another specialty we have is carved gold leaf signs.

Why do customers keep coming back?

Word of mouth. It is a quality product at a reasonable price. We have been in business quite a while so we stand behind everything we make - and my loving personality!

What is your favorite part about owning the business?

I own the building and I own the business so it gives me great satisfaction to put the key in the door because I built it from scratch. The specialty display signs are very interesting. People used to call it "Santa’s workshop" because you design and make everything. It gives you a lot of sense of accomplishment because you actually made something.

If you could give advice to someone looking to make a sign advertising their business, what would it be?

I would say definitely you want to have a nice classy sign that represents the type of business and the products you sell. Don’t skimp on signs because that is the first thing you see.
