Business Q&A: Rich & Famous Barber Shop

This old-fashioned neighborhood barber shop caters to local families and many others.

’s manager Rich Pinkasov has been at the East Meadow locale since 2010. He says that this is a place where “normal, average people get haircuts.”

Pinkasov took some time out of his day to tell Patch how the business started, services they offer and what makes East Meadow to manage a business:

Rich and famous is just an empty box when the owner opened it. He put it in and then the whole business got started with our little red baron airplane. It brought in the kids and that brought in the fathers. That is how the whole business got started.

How did you get into this business?

I just knew the owner and he put me in. I started working. I used to work in Freeport so I have been cutting hair for about four years now.

What makes East Meadow a great place to manage a business?

There are a lot of families. It’s a very family oriented place.

What special services does Rich & Famous offer?

Just haircuts and shaves. We do European style, too. From here to Europe and all around the world type of haircuts. If you can imagine it, we can do it.

What is your most popular haircut?

We have been doing a lot of mohawks for the summer. This is a very regular place for simple, working class people.

Why do customers keep coming back?

Because we are good and we are respectful. We just manage to give the exact same great haircuts that they got the first day they walked in.

What is your favorite part about managing the business?

Customer satisfaction. Having these people come back and keep getting these great haircuts.

If you could offer some advice to those who want to change their hairstyle, what would it be?

Just go for it.
