East Meadow Resident to Star in "Gypsy"

A first-hand account of what it's been like for Michelle Dominguez.

My name is Michelle Dominguez. I am 11 years old and I live in East Meadow. I attend Solomon Schechter Day School of Nassau County.

I am currently in a musical called Gypsy at Temple B’nai Torah. I play the role of Agnes. Agnes is different from all the other roles I have played. She is shy, yet sometimes outgoing. Her personality is unique and that’s what makes me really like her.

In Gypsy I have not only made strong friendships but I have learned a lot from my fellow actors and actresses. This is my first time being in an adult play. I feel honored to be working with so many experienced people. In adult plays, the plots are more sophisticated, making it more interesting.

Playing Mama Rose is TBT’s rabbi, Marci Bellows. It is amazing to see her so easily transform from a rabbi to an overprotective mother, Rose. I hope I get to be in other plays with her again as I have learned a lot from her. I am proud to be part of such an amazing cast and I know I will carry my experience from Gypsy wherever I go.
