East Meadow School District Fall Maintenance Report

Many changes were made to upgrade the facilities in East Meadow.

Throughout the months of September and October, 217 work orders were submitted to the facilities department of the East Meadow School District, and 183 orders were completed districtwide. Not included in those figures were emergency refrigeration and air conditioning repairs completed by in-house staff.

Exterior lighting repairs were completed in all buildings as well. Below is a list of the changes made in each building that is part of the East Meadow School District.

  • Electrical jobs were completed in several locations.
  • The asphalt in the kindergarten playground was repaired.

  • New gates were installed on three access points on Land Lane.
  • Asphalt was repaired in the playground.

  • Several roof leaks were repaired.
  • Trees adjacent to bus loop were pruned.
  • The asphalt in the kindergarten playground was repaired.

  • Painting of classrooms and corridors throughout the building is now 10 percent complete.
  • Painting of exterior flashing on top of the building is now 75 percent complete.

  • Drainage for the all purpose room was completely repiped and connected for proper drainage.
  • Repairs were completed to the kindergarten fibar area.

  • Additional electrical installations and plumbing work was completed in the kitchen and cafeterias.
  • Installed two new LED exterior lights.
  • New electrical lines were installed for projectors.

  • Ductwork over the music room was insulated by in-house staff.
  • Installation of new timers for roof fans is now 100 percent complete.
  • New heating controls were installed in 80 percent of corridors by in-house staff.
  • New electric lines were installed for projectors.

  • Painting and repair of partition wall in gym is 50 percent complete.
  • Painting and repair of exterior fencing is now 70 percent complete.
  • Retaining walls were painted.
  • Set up new tables in high school student cafeteria.
  • New electric lines were installed for projectors.

  • Two roof leaks were repaired.
  • Concrete slab for breezeway north door was completely replaced.
  • Completed repairs to push bars on several exterior doors.
