Rashbaum has helped to promote the bar using social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. His involvement has expanded the bar’s existing customer-base as well. On a typical Friday night, he says, Benchwarmers serves about 40 people, which is a good-sized crowd.

“Everyone. Literally everybody [comes to Benchwarmers],” Rashbaum said.  “Firefighters, young and old, college...it really changes depending on the time of day.”

Rashbaum believes Benchwarmers’ success with patrons stems from the bar’s unique ‘atmosphere’ and the close ‘family’ relationship employees share.  Outside of work, the staff goes to dinner to bond and discuss ways to improve business further.

“I would love more dinner and lunch specials,” he said, adding that the bar will soon be serving its brand-new “dollar tacos” to compliment happy hour, wing nights and other deals it offers throughout the week.

Looking toward the future, Rashbaum has dreams of expanding Benchwarmers.

“I would love to make it a bigger bar,” he said. “[With] more locations around”.

Benchwarmers also supports charity organizations within the community.  Working with its current partner, “,” the bar is recruiting participants and raising money for the first annual golf outing for drug awareness, which will take place on Aug. 2.
