Father, Daughter Rescued From Drowning In Nassau Pool

BREAKING: Lifeguards rescued the girl, then her father after he went underwater.

Lifeguards at an East Meadow pool rescued a father and his daughter after they both began struggling in the water Wednesday night.

According to police, the 29-year-old father was swimming with his daughter, whose age police did not release, at Veteran's Memorial Park Pool, located at 1700 Prospect Ave. While swimming, the girl began to struggle and had difficulty treading water. Lifeguards came to her aid and pulled her out of the pool.

As his daughter was pulled out, the father became submerged and was rescued by additional staff. When he was pulled from the pool, he was unconscious. CPR was performed and the man regained consciousness. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
