Local Dancer Auditions for 'America's Got Talent'
Liz Mooney, who starred with the Wild Cherryz in an October rendition of 'The Gong Show,' was given a tryout.

East Meadow resident Liz Mooney is at it again.
After starring in a new rendition of with her dance group 'The Wild Cherryz,' the group was recently granted an audition in Houston for the hit show 'America's Got Talent.'
"We auditioned in the beginning of November at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC and I sent a video of us to [America's Got Talent] at the end of March," Mooney said.

The group performed on April 19 in front of a celebrity panel that included Sharon Osborne, Howie Mandel and Piers Morgan. Nick Cannon, who has been the host since the show's fourth season, was on hand as well.
Mooney is the founder of The Wild Cherryz, and she has been dancing for as long as she can remember.

"I started my training in dance schools such as June Meyers, Carol's School of Dance and Betsey Dickserson's Performing Arts and Dancesation, which is formally from East Meadow," Mooney said.
Mooney has also performed in various Atlantic City casinos, such as Caesars, the Taj Mahal and Showboat.
