Police: Driver Charged With Vehicular Homicide in DWI Crash That Kills Passenger
Crash occurred on the exit ramp of the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Uniondale early Thursday.

A Brooklyn man is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide following a single-car crash in Uniondale early Thursday that killed another Brooklyn man, State Police said.
According to police, Bilal Hassan, 23, was driving a black 2014 Infiniti southbound on the Meadowbrook State Parkway when he attempted to exit at the westbound Southern State Parkway around 2:30 a.m.. Hassan lost control of the vehicle on the exit ramp and the car then left the roadway and struck a tree, police said.
The vehicle burst into flames, but the fire was quickly extinguished by two state troopers, police said.

Hassan, who sustained two broken legs and head trauma, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Nassau University Medical Center, police said.
Malih Takkouche, 23, a front seat passenger in the car, was killed in the crash, police said.

Hassan is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, second degree manslaughter, first degree vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving and DWI.
Anyone with information on the crash should contact the SP Valley Stream BCI at 516-561-8492. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
