Police: East Meadow Woman Slashed Tires, Mailed Letters With White Substance
The white substance was sugar, but the woman faces a charge of placing a false bomb, police say.

An East Meadow woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she slashed tires on multiple vehicles and sent letters containing an unknown white substance, later determined to be confectioner’s sugar, to people in the East Meadow area.
Police did not specify when the alleged crimes occurred, but 50-year-old Judith McGlone was arrested shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday at her home on Fifth Avenue.
Nassau County detectives along with the FBI Joint Terrorist Task Force conducted a joint investigation that led to McGlone’s arrest, police said.
