Police, Medics Deliver Baby In Mother's Home

Both mother and baby were doing well as they were brought to an area hospital.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Nassau police assisted a pregnant woman giving birth on Tuesday morning.

The 34-year-old was in labor in her living room as police arrived at the East Meadow home, just before 9 a.m.

Nassau County police medics Katlyn Billian and Valerie Seidel were able to deliver the healthy baby boy. The medics cut the umbilical cord, suction and stimulate the baby.

The mother and baby were assessed at home, before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

They were both in stable condition and doing well, police said.
