Police: Motorcyclist Killed in Bellmore Crash
A 34-year-old man died in a crash on Merrick Road Sunday afternoon, police say.

A 34-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an SUV in Bellmore Sunday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the man, whose name is being withheld by police pending family notification, was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson west on Merrick Road at 12:13 p.m. when the motorcycle collided with a 2011 Mazda SUV that had been traveling east on Merrick Road and was making a left turn into a shopping center at Winthrop Avenue.

A Bellmore Fire Department ambulance transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:42 p.m., police said. The 35-year-old female driver and a passenger in her vehicle were not injured in the crash.
No criminal charges are expected and both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks, police said.
