Motorcyclist Suffers Minor Injuries in Copiague Crash

Sirens screeched down Great Neck Road in Copiague between Wednesday evening as emergency responders rushed to the corner of Ferraris Street and Dixon Avenue. Bystanders were gathered as paramedics secured a wounded motorcyclist to a stretcher while his bike laid mere feet away.

Police said the accident occurred at 6:51 p.m. A damaged white pickup with landscaping equipment appeared to be the object of impact as it was within the confines of the quartered off scene. The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries, police said.

Traffic on a normally busy Dixon Avenue was at a standstill, closed both ways, as officers guided vehicles to side roads for detours.
