WESTBURY, NEW YORK—The Westbury School District recently hosted its annual My Brother’s Keeper induction ceremony, recognizing and celebrating young men of color who have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to serving their communities. In addition, a citation from Nassau County was given, recognizing the date as Westbury My Brother’s Keeper Day.
“This exciting evening highlighted the achievements, leadership, and promise of our inductees,” said Dr. Tahira A. The ceremony featured a moving keynote address by the Honorable Michael Blake, a former New York State assemblyman and former member of President Barack Obama’s administration. Mr. Blake played a pivotal role in advancing the My Brother’s Keeper initiative across New York State.
