• Proposed 2027 Budget (shawangunkjournal.com) — Ellenville-area taxpayers can weigh in on the Ellenville Fire District's proposed 2027 budget at a public hearing on October 20 at 6 p.m. at the Route 52 fire station in Greenfield Park. Copies of the budget are available from the Wawarsing Town Clerk, the Fire District Secretary, online, and at the hearing for anyone who wants to review spending plans. 
• Ulster County expands warming center hours for winter season (midhudsonnews.com) — Ellenville residents needing a safe place on cold nights will have expanded county-supported warming center options this winter, including a site at the Hunt Memorial Building on Canal Street. Ulster County is extending Kingston's hours and promising more details soon for Ellenville, with hotlines and law enforcement able to direct people to shelter when temperatures drop.
