• New compost drop-off site at Wisner Market, aims to reduce waste (mytwintiers.com) — Elmira residents can now drop off food scraps for free composting every Wednesday at Wisner Market, 200 N. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The new program, run by Southern Tier Reduces and Finger Lakes Compost, aims to cut landfill waste, offer reusable dishes to market vendors, and make sustainable habits easier for local households.
