FARMINGDALE, NY—With a budding Main Street and a lot of activities around, Farmingdale is one of Long Island's up-and-coming neighborhoods. There are a few Facebook pages you should follow and groups you should join if you're in the area.

  • Croxley Ales Farmingdale: Croxley's on Farmingdale's Main Street might just have the biggest selection of craft beers from around the world in the area. Along with pub fare like wings, burgers, sandwiches, and other appetizers and meals, Croxley's is a fixture in Farmingdale to go watch a televised sporting event. If you frequent Croxley's, you'll want to like its Facebook page, where it shares which new beers come in, posts photos of food and drinks and even uploads the occasional meme.
  • Flux Coffee: Farmingdale's craft coffee cafe situated on the heart of Main Street. Pop in to grab a quick cup of hot or iced coffee, featuring bean types from around the world, or sit down and get some work done. Coffee for both adventurists and traditionalists is available at Flux. The shop uses Facebook to post when it gets a new type of coffee in or acquires other new products. You can also head to Flux's website to buy coffee beans online and have the pack delivered to your door.
  • Hounds Town Farmingdale: Hounds Town is a daycare and boarding service for your four-legged friends if you won't be around or are going on vacation. Your fur-baby will be able to socialize with other dogs his or her size while you're away. Hounds Town uses Facebook to share news of fundraisers and other events. Perhaps more importantly, they often posts photos of new dogs that come in to play.
