At the Women’s Club of Farmingdale (WCF) May 7th meeting, club President Lynda Leone presented William “Bill” Trudden with a $100 donation to benefit local families in need. “Bill” Trudden, of McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home, was honored at the first-ever St. Kilian Outreach Charity Golf Outing, “Tee Off Against Hunger,” held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Timber Point Country Club. All proceeds went to benefit St. Kilian’s Parish Social Ministry Outreach families in need. SKO serves over 500 individuals monthly in the Farmingdale community. Bill is a long-time community leader having served on the Farmingdale Village Planning Board, as Past President of the Farmingdale Rotary Club and currently as a member of both the Chamber of Commerce and the Knights of Columbus. Bill Trudden is a devoted husband, father and son who has supported numerous local initiatives. As a 4th generation funeral director and co-owner of McCourt & Trudden, he has provided compassionate service to families in Farmingdale for nearly 100 years. With grace and humility, Bill continues this legacy, working with families through their most difficult times and offering peace, dignity and care when it’s needed most.

Also at the May meeting, Farmingdale Superintendent of Schools Paul Defendini presented an update on the state of the Farmingdale School District, including updates to school security, curriculum, and food service. District-wide they have 47 security personnel and to enter a school you need an appointment. Students planning to attend college are offered a large variety of AP classes, while those not planning to attend college are offered courses in a variety of trades, including plumbing, cosmetology, medical, auto and theatre. And in the food service area, the emphasis is on “FRESH.” Students can find a variety of fresh selections, including fruits, smoothies and bars.
