Job Description

American Analytical Laboratories, LLC. has an immediate position for an entry level Lab Technician in the Farmingdale, Long Island, NY area for a full-time opportunity.  M-F 7:30am-4:00pm.

Job Title: Extraction Lab Technician

SUMMARY:   Conduct chemical preparation and laboratory tests of solids and liquids for purposes such as quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving practical application of chemistry and sciences following laboratory quality system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•             Set up and conduct chemical tests and analyses using techniques such as chemical separation     

techniques and microwave extraction of environmental soil and liquid samples for the organic

instrumentation laboratories.

•             Prepare chemical solutions for analyses following standardized formulas and approved methods.

•             Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and glassware.

•             Analyze performance testing (PT) samples, and display proper analytical techniques to third party

                Auditors in order to maintain laboratory certification.

•             Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Biology. Interest in working in a laboratory setting and comfortable working with chemicals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Ability to conduct tests to evaluate quality and performance and manage one’s own time.

•Ability to pay attention to details as needed to complete measurements and analyses, enter data, etc. and to meet quality control requirements.

•Ability to work as part of a team, follow standard operating procedures, adapt to changes and incorporate them into daily routines.
