• Car Stuck On LIRR Tracks In Farmingdale, Woman Arrested On DWI Charges: MTAPD (patch.com) — Farmingdale residents briefly faced late-night LIRR delays after a Whitestone woman's car became stuck on the tracks at the Clinton Avenue crossing near the Farmingdale station. MTA police say no trains struck the vehicle, it was removed within about 75 minutes, and the driver was arrested on DWI-related charges before regular Ronkonkoma Branch service resumed.
• Farmingdale football coach Buddy Krumenacker says this will be his final year at helm for Dalers (newsday.com) — Farmingdale football legend Buddy Krumenacker is coaching his final season for the Dalers after 34 years leading Farmingdale High School, capping a 58-year Long Island career. The 78-year-old coach, beloved in the Farmingdale community, will guide the team into a Sept. 4 season opener at Oceanside and says he's proud to leave a strong, blue-collar football tradition behind.
