Girl Scouts of Nassau County to Honor Local Volunteers

Girl Scout volunteers will be honored and recognized at the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s (GSNC) 19th annual Adult Recognitions Ceremony on Sunday, March 13th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at St. Francis Hospital’s DeMatteis Center in Greenvale, NY.

"Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization and we cannot thank them enough,” said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. "Without them, we could certainly not be able to positively reach or help the more than 22,000 members that we have. We are incredibly proud of these women and are honored to present them with these awards for their devotion time, talent and energy to our Council.”

At the Adult Recognitions Ceremony the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Board of Directors will recognize its volunteers with several awards, including the Girl Scouts of the USA Appreciation Pin, Honor Pin and new this year, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Continuing Service Award. The GSUSA Appreciation Pin recognizes volunteers actively giving outstanding service meeting one or more of the Council goals in membership growth and retention, fund development, or increased community visibility in at least one geographic area. The GSUSA Honor Pin recognizes volunteers actively giving outstanding service by significantly contributing to one or more Council goals in membership growth and retention, fund development, or increased community visibility in two or more geographic areas. The Girl Scouts of Nassau County Continuing Service Award will be presented to volunteers that are nominated after receiving the Appreciation, Honor or Thanks Badge and have continued service for an additional five years. The Award Pin will depict a tree as a symbol of continuity, continued growth and service to Girl Scouts of Nassau County. All awarded volunteers actively recognize, understand and practice the values of inclusive behavior. A special Certificate of Appreciation will also be award to the Coaches and Mentors of the GSNC Lego Robotics Teams for their support and guidance to the girls.
