The first round of Farmingdale commercials came out toward the end of the coronavirus lockdown, according to Walter Priestley, a Farmingdale Village trustee.

"We wanted to remind people we were up and running and back in business," he told Patch. "Every year, we get better and better with more activities and new businesses."

The village produced a fresh pair of commercials highlighting some of the businesses that were not featured the first time.

"We want people to know what it looks like to come to a busy night in downtown Farmingdale," Priestley said. "It's not like you pull up to a shopping center parking lot and walk up to a storefront restaurant or bar and go in. When you come to downtown Farmingdale, you park in one of our beautiful municipal lots with terrific lighting and hanging flowers. You may pass by our Village Green or pocket park while you stroll on Main Street, listen to live music coming from different venues, see other happy faces, some familiar and some not. Eventually, you get to your destination but the walk is part of the experience. Many people don't have a destination, they just go for an adventure and people-watch."

Priestley said there is something for everyone in the village and he hopes that was evident in the commercials.

"You can just get a slice of pizza or a frozen yogurt, maybe a cold beer or a shot, or you can go to a fancy dinner," he said. "There are people of all ages. There are so many different types of venues that are all walking distance from one another."

Farmingdale Village offers street fairs, music festivals, movie nights, cultural events, and more.
