Video: Couples Unite in State's Largest Same-Sex Wedding Ceremony
Carlyle on the Green donated its space for Tuesday's event.
Dozens of couples gathered at Carlyle on the Green at on Tuesday to participate in what state Sen. Malcolm Smith and the Long Island Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Network have said is the state's largest same-sex wedding ceremony yet. Many teary-eyed newlyweds gave special thanks to Governor Cuomo for pushing the state marriage bill on June 24.
Couples at the mass wedding hailed from throughout Long Island, while other couples traveled from as far as Virginia and New Jersey to participate in the historic event.
