Duo Found With Weapons, Drugs In Bethpage: Police

An officer saw one of the men urinating in a parking lot when he noticed a knife on his waistband, police say.

BETHPAGE, NY - Two men were arrested after they were found with weapons and drugs in Bethpage on Friday night, according to Nassau Police.

Officers were on patrol when they saw 59-year-old Lloyd Morgan of North Carolina urinating in the parking lot of the BP Gas station on Wantagh Avenue at about 10:10 p.m., police said.

As he walked back to the car that he was a passenger in, officers saw a knife on his waistband, police said.

The driver of the car, 34-year-old Eugene Jones, of Bethpage was found to have a gun on the right side of his pants, police said.

A handgun was recovered from Jones’ waistband and Morgan was found to have a black gravity knife on his person, police said. Both men were placed under arrest without incident.

Further investigation revealed an additional gravity knife as well as ecstasy, marijuana and other various drugs, police said.

Morgan is being charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct, police said.

Jones is being charged with fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

They were both arraigned on October 21.
