FARMINGDALE, NY — Estée Lauder, a cosmetics company, intends to partner with Farmingdale State College to open a research laboratory and office on the campus in the spring, according to a news release. More than 30 jobs would be created, and student scholarships would be funded.

Estée Lauder will rent 40,000 square feet in the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park part of campus. By spring 2022, the company plans to relocate select teams of employees to Farmingdale State College.

The collaboration will include an applied learning initiative, slated to begin in fall 2022, and will help prepare students in FSC’s science and engineering programs for potential R&D roles at ELC. It will also include internships and collaborative research activities for FSC students and faculty, adjunct academic opportunities for ELC R&D leaders, and student scholarships.
