Magical Saturday Nights at Borders Sponsored by Hicksville's The Magic Store

Celebrated Magician Vincent Lauria Will Perform at Borders Café beginning at 7:00pm.  Borders of Farmingdale introduces its new program, "Magical Saturday Nights" on Saturday, January 29 at 7:00pm. Hicksville’s The Magic Shop, recently voted as the "Best Hobby Store" from the Long Island Press, presents a special night of illusions featuring Long Island magician Vincent Lauria performing in the café. "Magical Saturday Nights" will be hosted at Borders every last Friday of the month.

Mr. Lauria has been performing and entertaining audiences for over eight years. He excels in the intimacy of close-up magic and has an extensive repertoire of slight-of-hand which allows for the creation of a mature and contemporary experience for his guests. Magic is no longer limited to repetitive card tricks thanks for Mr. Lauria’s unique and enjoyable talent. He also creates elaborate balloon sculptures which amaze and mystify people of all ages.

Mr. Lauria has been awarded a lifetime membership into the International Magician’s Society. He has been featured in many publications including the New York Daily News and Newsday. He has worked at the Magic Shop where he has demonstrated and taught magic for seven years. He currently lives in Massapequa.

The Magic Shop is proud to be the longest operating magic shop on Long Island. The shop made its start thirty-five years ago in a small 100 square foot storefront in the Broadway Mall. Guests who came as children back then are now coming with their own children at their present location at 940 South Broadway in Hicksville. Before this native Long Islander became swept into the spotlight, Criss was a regular customer of the Magic Shop, where he purchased his first magic trick and mastered the important fundamentals of magic. Criss still visits when he is not working on his television series, "Mindfreak," and his live show in Las Vegas, "Believe."
