Customers are invited to sample the pizza at the truck or by the tasting table inside the store, where Castello Monaci will pour a number of their hand-crafted wines, including Castello Monaci Piluna Primitivo, Liante Salice Salentino, old-vine primitivo Artas, and Kreos Rosato 2010. Bottles of each, ranging in price from $11.99 - $36.99 will be available for purchase.
Pizza selections include Crushed Tomatoes, Fresh Basil, and “Fior di Latte” Fresh Mozzarella; Fresh Mozzarella, Wood Roasted Fennel, Spicy Fennel Sausage, and Red Onion; Smoked Mozzarella, Wood Roasted Eggplant, and Arugula; and Gorgonzola, “Negroamaro” Braised Oxtail, Caramelized Cipolini Onions.
Castello Monaci produces hand-crafted wines from vineyards that benefit from superb exposure to the warm and constant Mediterranean sun in Southern Italy’s Puglia region. Among the many delicious foods that complement these wonderful wines, “artisanal” pizza, with its strong direct flavors that also speak of the Mediterranean, is the perfect choice of food.
