Farmingdale Bowlers Honored at Awards Ceremony

Steve Harris will head to the New York State tournament this weekend.

The teams that will represent Nassau County at the New York State bowling tournament in Syracuse March 5-6 were announced at an awards dinner Wednesday night, which celebrated all of Nassau County’s high school bowlers. 

Farmingdale’s Steve Harris complemented at the Nassau County semifinal tournament with a first place finish in the individual tournament just a week later, clinching him a spot on the State team.  He will join five other top Nassau County bowlers to form the Nassau County boys Section VIII team. 

At the awards ceremony Harris pulled top honors for Farmingdale, both by earning a spot on the State team and finishing All-County with a season average of 211.  Other award winners for Farmingdale include TJ Aitala with a second place high game of 277, Julia DiPalma for the girls team with a third place high game of 195, and John Lombardi earning All-League with a season ending 190 average.

Representing the Dale’s at the awards dinner were Steve Harris, John Lombardi, Eric Kennedy, Steve Hamlin, Casey Spracio, TJ Aitala, Joe Inzirello, and their coach Joe Bianca. 

Graduating seniors Harris, Lombardi, and Aitala will leave some big shoes to fill however by the performances shown by Kennedy, Inzirello, and Hamlin at the county semifinals, Farmingdale will continue to be a top competitor next season.
