Farmingdale Deputy Chief Uses Narcan to Revive Overdose Victim

The person was found not breathing in Farmingdale on Monday afternoon.

FARMINGDALE, NY - A member of the Farmingdale Fire Department used Narcan to rescue an unconscious person suffering from an apparent drug overdose in Farmingdale on Monday afternoon.

The department was alerted for a person unconscious and not breathing on Eastern Parkway and Oakview Avenue at about 12:43 p.m.

Upon arrival, Deputy Chief Ryan Tortoso found the person on the ground in almost respiratory arrest.

He then administered nasal Narcan, which is used to treat narcotic overdose, and the person began breathing.

The person was then transported to the local hospital. No further information was available.
