Farmingdale Women's Basketball Beats St. Joe's, 77-48
The Rams played a successful game before their upcoming conference games.
The women's basketball team played a terrific game against the St. Joseph Bears Tuesday, winning 77-48. Rams #33, Kayla Koch, started the game off with a two-point bucket and the Lady Bears reciprocated with two.
Don’t let size fool you, the 5’4” guard, Nikita Green, stripped the ball from the Bears and drove the ball down the hardwood for a two-point bucket. Green repeated this play three consecutive times. After a period of back-and-forth, Rams #44, Mariel Rozon, shot a crisp three-pointer, followed by teammate Green with two precise three-pointers. However, the Lady Bears strengthened their offense and defense by ending the first quarter with a three-pointer by freshman Guard #32, Kelly McNamee.
The Farmingdale Rams maintained pressure on the Bears during the second half. #11, Nikita Green, started off with a two-point bucket for Farmingdale. She continued her streak from the first quarter by stealing the ball from the Bears and scoring two more for the Rams. A three point scoring blitz unfolded as Bears #15, Tara Gleason, scored three, followed by Rams #44, Rozon, followed by Bears #5, Janine Dora,; followed by Rams #23, Dominique Cunningham, followed by Rams #4, Jalicia Connell and a final three points for Bears #13, Teresa Mangan. The second half ended with a two-point basket by Rams #32, Keona Jones.

Heroes: Farmingdale was led by sophomore guard, #11, Nikita Green with 16 total points. Rams #44, Mariel Rozon, played an impressive game scoring 11 points for Farmingdale.
Quotable: Rams head coach, Chris Mooney, was very happy with the Lady’s performance tonight. “We’re really looking to win conference games and this was a great warm up. We’re improving each and every game," he said.

Bottom Line: The Rams continue to improve and their new players, Jalicia Connell and Keona Jones, showed their strong work ethic tonight, scoring a combined total of 13 points for the Rams. Farmingdale played notable offense and defense tonight.
