Farmingdale Man Killed in Bethpage Motorcycle Crash

The motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by an 84-year-old woman Sunday afternoon, police say.

A 22-year-old Farmingdale man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car Sunday afternoon in Bethpage, police say.

According to authorities, a 2015 Kawasaki was traveling eastbound on Central Avenue when it struck a 1995 Oldsmobile that was making a left turn onto Scherer Street after traveling westbound on Central Avenue at 3:03 p.m.

The motorcyclist, identified as Ryan Rogers, and the driver of the Oldsmobile, an 84-year-old woman, were transported to local hospital to be treated for injuries.

Rogers was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m. by a staff physician and the elderly woman was treated for superficial head and neck trauma.

Detectives do not suspect criminality. Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks.
