FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale State College will help spearhead the new Offshore Wind Training Institute at the behest of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, the school announced.

The institute — part of Cuomo's Workforce Development Initiative — is funded by a $20 million grant. Farmingdale State College will work to provide New Yorkers with the skills and safety training needed to work in the offshore wind industry, beginning in 2021.
