The Farmingdale School District recently opened its doors to officially begin the 2016-2017 academic year. To launch the new school year, students at Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial and Woodward Parkway Elementary Schools, Howitt Middle School and Farmingdale High School participated in number of educational games and community-building activities. In addition, Farmingdale School District Superintendent John Lorentz, administrators, principals, assistant principals, teachers and staff all welcomed the District’s more than 5,700 students as they entered the buildings.

“As the 2016-2017 school year begins, the Farmingdale community can look forward to a number of exciting initiatives that will propel the District to new heights of academic excellence,” said Farmingdale School District Superintendent John Lorentz. “Along with enhancing our rigorous academic programs and providing increased extracurricular and creative opportunities, we are also working to provide state-of-the-art technology and brand new facilities for our students.”
