Farmingdale State College Wins SUNY Award
The local college received the honor for "an extraordinary commitment to enhancing diversity, inclusion and social justice."

FARMINGDALE, NY - Farmingdale State College recently received a SUNY award for Diversity, Inclusion and Social Justice Award.
The is the first year that SUNY awards were given out.
The awards were given to recognize the contribution made by SUNY institutions and individuals to advance diversity, inclusion and social justice through innovate programming, research, teaching, and service.

Farmingdale was selected demonstrating “an extraordinary commitment to enhancing diversity, inclusion and social justice throughout their institution and the University,” according to SUNY.
“This is a milestone achievement for Farmingdale State College in receiving the first Institutional Diversity, Inclusion and Social Justice Award from SUNY Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion," Dr. Veronica Henry, FSC’s Chief Diversity Officer/Title IX Coordinator, said."We are very proud of this important recognition, and will continue to move the dial forward in diversity and inclusive excellence.”

Farmingdale’s ranks fourth among 31 SUNY institutions that offer a baccalaureate degree, in the
percentage of its minority undergraduate student population.
