Fire Breaks Out At Farmingdale Restaurant

The fire was caused by a pot left on the stove.

FARMINGDALE, NY - Firefighters battled a fire that broke out at a Farmingdale restaurant on Friday morning.

The Farmingdale Fire Department responded to a building fire after smoke was found at an apartment above the ChopStix restaurant on Conklin Stree shortly before 4 a.m.

Responding firefighters on the scene found smoke on the first and second floors of the two story mixed occupancy.

Firefighters then forced entry into the building and found a pot left on the stove.

The occupants were all evacuated and the fire was put out within an hour.

No injuries were reported.
