Errol D. Toulon Jr. was elected sheriff of Suffolk County in 2017. The first African American elected official to hold a "nonjudicial countywide office" in county history, Toulon was re-elected to a second term on Nov. 2, 2021.

The award was named after U.S. Army Specialist Jacob Fletcher, who died in Iraq. Concerned about
his fellow soldiers, Fletcher asked his mother Doreen Kenny to send extra care packages he could give them. Even after Fletcher's death, she continued sending care packages to soldiers for 10 years, and Jacob’s Light program coordinator Hubert Johnson continues her mission to this day.

Jack Oehm, a retired battalion chief of the FDNY and board member of Tunnel to Towers, is set as the featured speaker. Oehm will describe the foundation’s mission to support first responder families and disabled veterans.

The public is encouraged to attend the free breakfast program.

"Come celebrate with prominent elected officials and heroes from Nassau and Suffolk Counties," the museum wrote. "But, be advised that since space is limited."

People can email Erika.Hershberger@suffolkcountyny.gov to reserve a seat. The American Airpower Museum is at 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale.
