John's Crazy Socks Of LI Sends Care Package To Jets QB Aaron Rodgers After QB's Injury
"When I saw Aaron Rodgers get hurt, I felt so bad for him," said John Cronin, who sent socks, candy and a note after the QB's Achilles tear.

FARMINGDALE, NY — There was a lot of fanfare and optimism when former Super Bowl winner and MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers signed with the New York Jets this offseason. It quickly evaporated when, just a few plays into his Jets career in September, Rodgers suffered an Achilles tear that could keep him out for most of the season.
John Cronin, who co-founded John's Crazy Socks of Farmingdale with his father, Mark X., is a huge fan of the Jets and Rodgers. John, who has Down syndrome, sent the quarterback six pairs of football or athletic socks and candy.
"When I saw Aaron Rodgers get hurt, I felt so bad for him," John told Patch in an email. "He works so hard. I wanted to do something to make him feel better and to show that he had a lot of support from Jet fans. Our mission at John's Crazy Socks is to spread happiness and I thought I could share some happiness with Aaron Rodgers by sending him socks."

John also sent Rodgers a special note that he hopes inspires him through his grueling Achilles tear recovery.
"I told Aaron Rodgers that I believe in him I told him that I learned from Special Olympics that sometimes we fall down but we got to get up and keep going," he said. "I know he can do this. I sent him socks and made the videos to encourage Aaron Rodgers. Even Aaron Rodgers needs support from others."

John said he would "love" to hear back from Rodgers.
"That would send me over the moon," John said. "But I know he is very busy and he does not have to call me. I just want him to know that he has my support."
John filmed a video for Rodgers where he said that he knows rehabilitation from a tendon tear is difficult.
"I believe in you," John said in the video. "I know you can do this ... You will get better. Let's go Jets! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!"
Mark said his son is "one of the most caring and giving people" he has ever met.
"He's a diehard Jet fan so of course he was disappointed when Aaron Rodgers got hurt but he immediately thought of the person and wanted to do what he could to help Aaron Rodgers," Mark said.
John's Crazy Socks is a brand built on bringing joy to others.
"John talks about spreading happiness, and he says there are two keys to happiness: gratitude and doing for others," Mark said. "It does not matter how famous you are or how rich you are, all of us can use some support. These are great example of showing that the more we do for others the better off we are."
