The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce president asked the community to support local businesses during the new coronavirus outbreak.
FARMINGDALE, NY — Joseph Garcia, president of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, sent a letter to the editor in an effort to reach the local community on the subject of supporting local businesses through the new coronavirus.
Below is Garcia's full, unedited letter:
"The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce asks that Farmingdale come together to support the businesses that support the community.

Every day, small business owners and organizations are being asked to make public safety judgment calls, putting themselves, their staff, and their future at risk.
Our Restaurants, Brewery, and many others have been forced to change business models overnight to comply with State Rules and Guidelines to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. The vast majority of our members are still operating. Food and Beverage establishments have made provisions for takeouts, curbside pick up, free delivery, discounts, and Alcohol to-go and even delivered.
