Update: LIRR Service Interrupted by Accident

The Long Island Rail Road said Monday that westbound train service will resume at 3:11 PM from Ronkonkoma. Service was interrupted early Monday morning because of a fatal accident in Central Islip.

 Service remains suspended between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma.

The LIRR said higher than normal usage was expected on the Port Jefferson line as a result. And the railroad is experiencing 10-15 minute delays westbound from Hicksville to Jamaica.

Service had been suspended on the Ronkonkoma Branch in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma about 6:15 Monday morning.
