Machete-Wielding Robber Has Hit 3 Nassau Businesses: Police
The latest robbery occurred at a Carvel store last week.

Nassau Police have confirmed that they believe a recent Bethpage robbery by a machete-wielding man is connected to at least two similar incidents in Nassau that occurred last month.
The Bethpage Carvel robbery that occurred last Tuesday is believed to be related to an attempted robbery at a Seaford Dunkin' Donuts that occurred on Feb. 16 and a robbery at a South Farmingdale Carvel that same night.
During the attempted robbery, the man entered the restaurant on 4007 Merrick Road at 9:12 p.m. He displayed a machete and demanded money from a cashier.

After being told there was no money, the man, whose face was covered, fled through the parking lot without any proceeds.
At 9:42 p.m., about five miles from the Dunkin' Donuts, police believe the same man entered the ice cream shop on 319 Northwest Drive where he displayed the machete and demanded money from the cashier.

The cashier, who was in the process of counting money from a tip container, handed him about $40 in cash. The robber then fled the store and was last seen heading northbound onto Hart Street.
The most recent robbery occurred last Tuesday at about 9:55 p.m., a man entered the Carvel on 4246 Hicksville Road, displayed a machete, went behind counter and demanded cash from the 19-year-old woman.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, he left the store and fled south toward Iris Place, police said.
He was last seen entering a silver or tan four door sedan that headed south on Hicksville Road.
The robber is described as 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10. During the first two incidents, he wore dark gray jacket, a black ski hat, white sneakers and a dark gray scarf covering his face. In the most recent robbery, he was described as wearing a black hooded jacket, mask and gloves.
A Carvel store in Westbury was robbed by a man with a large knife Sunday night, but police have not said if they believe the same man is responsible.
