Main Street Closed for Snow Removal
Narrow road requires attention after blizzard.
Main Street has been shut down Wednesday morning, in order for the village to remove snow piles crowding the narrow street.
The removal is being done in parts, as to avoid closing the entire street at once. As of 8 a.m. the area between Route 109 and Conklin Ave. has been cleared and plows from the were working on the area between Conklin Ave. and Front St.
According to Village of Farmingdale Mayor George Starkie, this measure was necessary and planned.

"There was a tremendous amount of snow and we were concerned with how long it would take before it melts," he said. "We need to cart the snow off of Main Street."
The area should be cleared by the end of the morning.
