Man Arrested In Farmingdale Home Break-In: Police
The man stole a $2,500 laptop and let the homeowner's pets out of their cages, which led to her dog killing her cat, police say.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A man was arrested after Nassau police said he broke into a Farmingdale home on Monday.
A 57-year-old woman was told at 1:30 p.m. by an employee of her pet care agency that the back door of her Terrace View Road home was broken into, police said. Her two dogs and three cats were let out of their crates, which led to one of the dogs killing a cat, detectives said.
The woman watched security video of Isaac Flores, 29, of Copiague, entering the side yard of her home, police said. When she saw he did not leave, she called police, detectives said.

Officers found Flores inside the home and arrested him without incident, police said.
The home was ransacked, and Flores had stolen a laptop valued at $2,500, while the damage to the door was worth $400, police said.

During the investigation, police said that at 8:46 a.m. the same day, Flores was seen on security video at a second home on Terrace View Road using a pry bar on the front storm door and the back storm door attempting to get in. The damage to both doors is valued at $300, police said.
Flores was charged with one count of second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, one count of second-degree attempted burglary, two counts of possession of burglars tools, one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, and one count of agriculture and markets law aggravated cruelty to animals.
His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday in First District Court at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
