Motorcyclist Killed in East Farmingdale Crash Involving Drunken Driver: Police

The crash occurred Saturday night.

A motorcyclist was killed after he collided with a pickup truck driven by a drunken driver in East Farmingdale on Saturday night, police say.

According to authorities, Tomasz Myszke, 39, of Copiague, was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle southbound of Wellwood Avenue when he struck a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling northbound and attempting to make a left turn onto Conklin Street at 11:15 p.m.

Myszke was pronounced dead at the scene and the pickup truck driver, identified as 49-year-old Melville resident Edward Okon, was charged with DWI.

Okon, who was not injured from the crash, is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday morning at First District Court in Central Islip.

Both vehicles have been impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555.
