Nassau Man Surrenders Following Hours-Long Standoff With Police

Nassau Police took a man into custody after he surrendered following a four-hour standoff on Tuesday, according to reports.

FARMINGDALE, NY–Police took a man into custody after a nearly four-hour standoff on Tuesday at a home on Lambert Avenue in Farmingdale, Newsday reported.

The incident started around 4:30 p.m. with the man eventually coming out of his home with his hands in the air and surrendering to police around 8:30 p.m., per Newsday. Police did not release details of the incident, only saying that there's an "active investigation" near the house, Newsday reported.

Police had surrounded the home and blocked off the neighborhood throughout the standoff, according to FiOS1 News.
