Pourmand: We have high grade coffee lightly roasted. We do all pour overs here's, expect in the mornings we have the commuter cup, which is chemex brewed coffee kept in airports for the speed of batch brew coffee, but the care, and taste of a pour over.
Patch: What food/drink item are you most excited about?
Pourmand: Our double shot of espresso to stay. we use a Slayer espresso machine, which allows us to serve a much more flavorful espresso. In addition, we serve it paired with fruit and seltzer.
Patch: What is your favorite thing about owning a restaurant?
Pourmand: Interacting with people and watching there faces drink light roasted coffee for the first time and hearing them say "wow, I don't even need to add milk or sugar to this, it's so good!"
Patch: What do you want people to know about your restaurant?
Pourmand: Coffee like all foods is prepared differently in different places. You fast food, franchise family establishment, and high end establishments. Coffee is the same. We put a ton of effort into providing excellent coffee, and a bit of coffee education to whoever is willing to listen. We serve light roasted coffee. What that means is the coffee lacks the bitterness in most coffees, and allows the drinker to pick out the different flavor notes naturally present in the coffee.
Patch: What advice would you give to other restaurant owners?
Pourmand: Don't compromise your integrity or vision for your place.
Patch: What made you want to open your restaurant in Farmingdale?
Pourmand: Farmingdale is the fastest growing village, one of the few places a third wave coffee shop would work.
Patch: What do you like the most about Farmingdale?
Pourmand: The diversity of the people that come in.
Patch: What have you learned since opening your restaurant?
Pourmand: Things that you don't think will go wrong, will go wrong, and opening will take twice as long.
